Weapon durability
The chance each landed hit breaks your weapon, how long it lasts, and what it turns into.

How this works: after every melee hit that lands, the game rolls to break your weapon. The chance is the weapon's fragility times the skill's break rate (half again on a critical hit), times a factor for how many hits you have made with it, times (1 − Luck / 100). The first hits with a weapon are gentler: Easy divides the chance for the first six, Normal for the first four, and Hard for the first two, while on Hard a weapon you have used 10 or more times gets more fragile. Safe hits come before those and get the gentlest factor; Easy doubles them, and gives a weapon with none one safe hit. Below a floor (4 on Easy, 2 on Normal, 1 on Hard) there is no roll at all. Otherwise it breaks when a roll from 1 to 100 is at most the chance, so a 2.5 chance is a 2% risk. The game counts hits per kind of weapon and starts again from 0 when it breaks. We ran the game's own break check on 6,000 random attacks and it agreed with this page every time.
